The Brief, population of curlews is in rapid decline, making it increasingly important to track and monitor their sightings. To address this issue, an app has been designed to allow users to collect data on their sightings of these birds.
The target audience for this tool is comprised of volunteer environmentalists and bird watching groups. To support these groups, a page has been created within the app for volunteers to learn more about curlews in the information area. Additionally, this page can be used to connect with other birdwatching communities to share information and engage in discussions.
The Design of the app is intended to be used while hiking in search of curlew sightings in a variety of contexts, including rural, green, and open areas. The app is versatile enough to allow users to record sightings in different environmental conditions, such as in the rain or during clear weather.
Overall, the app is designed to provide a user-friendly and efficient way for volunteers to collect data on curlew sightings. By making the app easy to use, the hope is that more data can be collected, leading to a better understanding of curlews and their habitats.
The design layout was kept simple and minimalist for a fresh, contemporary look. This design approach was chosen to ensure that the app's functionality remained the primary focus. To add personality and a splash of colour, illustrations and photographs were added to the design.
